In 1986, Pasta Kitchen began selling authentic Italian prepared meals and sauces to the community of North York, Ontario. The facility was a modest 900 sq.ft. retail shop, but quickly gained a reputation for fresh, restaurant quality food that could be eaten in the comfort of home....just heat 'n serve! For busy, dual income families, their question of 'what to make for dinner?' had been answered. In many ways, Pasta Kitchen helped to pioneer the Home Meal Replacement boom of the 90's.
In fact, the popularity of our products was so strong, that Canada's leading grocery retailers recognized the opportunity to provide an added value service to their customers by adding Pasta Kitchen products to their product offering. The Home Meal Replacement category grew, and so did Pasta Kitchen.
To meet consumer demand for our products, Pasta Kitchen moved to a larger, 9000 sq. ft. facility in central Toronto and added enhancements to the production line to extend product shelf-life. A direct-to-store delivery network was established to service customers in the Greater Toronto Area and the business took off! We now serve customers throughout Canada and into the U.S.A..
Today, our home is a 25,000 sq.ft. facility in Concord, Ontario. We operate in a federally inspected plant and have proudly gained HACCP recognition, setting the stage for our next level of growth. We still maintain the same high quality standards that earned us our reputation, and we believe more than ever that our customers deserve the best in service and quality. We will deliver on that promise.
